Negative people see problems in every solution, yet when faced with a genuine crisis, they bury their heads in the sand like ostriches.
In my workshops, I often have participants engage in activities that might initially seem odd to them; however, upon completion, they realize how deeply relevant these exercises are to their own lives.
While my workshops involve only a small group, the issue at hand concerns 1.3 billion Indians who have currently set aside their daily routines to stay indoors due to the lockdown.
Whether a laborer or an entrepreneur, it is natural for everyone to worry about the future. No one lives under the naive illusion that clapping hands or lighting lamps after switching off the lights will bring the coronavirus under control; yet, in this gloomy atmosphere, the public does not want a leader who walks around with a mournful face or one who fosters dependency through handouts.
At times like these, what is needed is not merely reassurance, but the ability to uplift a mind trapped in the depths of despair.
In my workshops, I focus less on offering support and more on empowering people to stand on their own feet—which is exactly what they desire.
To those circulating posts about "scientific rationality" on social media, I would simply say this: there was a time when the *Namaskar* was dismissed as a sign of backwardness, yet today the entire world recognizes the science behind it; so, let us not be too hasty in our rush to showcase science.
People may be unable to step outside, but when everyone performs the same action simultaneously, they become mentally and emotionally connected; standing united makes even the most formidable battle easier to fight.
This is the time for us to work together in unity, for this is not an isolated problem but a global crisis.
We are witnessing the situation in scientifically advanced Europe and America; in comparison, we have managed to keep the coronavirus in check so far—a feat achieved through the determined efforts of both the country's leadership and its people.
And yes, I have been staying indoors since March 22nd; I participated in the clapping and the blowing of the conch shell. Tomorrow, April 5th, I will certainly light lamps—actual ones.
After all, instead of merely lamenting the darkness, one should create light.
