To Win, Face Problems Patiently…Learning From Shri Ram

As per the Hindu Dashavtar Shri Ram is the 7th avatar of god Vishnu for the welfare of the world.

In my opinion Shriram is not just a character of Hindu Puran (for western it’s mythology) but a history that we all should be proud of. As even today there is Ayodhya & there is Ramsetu along with all the places mentioned in Ramayana.

Shri Ram was the elder son amongst 4 children’s of king Dashrath & a future king of Ayodhya. A ‘Maryada Purushottam’ (A man of supreme dignity) who gladly went to jungle for 14 years to live a life of a monk just to fulfil his father’s promise made to his step mother Kaikei.

During his exile he faced numerous problems but the biggest blow was when all powerful mighty Ravan abducted Seeta.

Separation from wife whom he loved dearly did left him with agony but instead of getting carried away with that sorrow he kept searching for her & finally return Ayodhya after killing Ravan.

You think this all happened so easily? Surely not; you can’t resolve your problems so effortlessly, isn’t?

When problem appears in life it’s never alone or one problem at a time. It’s always a series of multiple problems & they all make sure to fall on your head at the same time & their timing is so perfect that you are bound to collapse.

A common man can get confused or feel stuck in such positions so easily. You can’t even think of your next move. I don’t think that I need to write in details about the mentality when we face so many problems at once as we all have experienced that in our own life sometime or the other.

Hanuman & Sugreev were the best resources to generate the Vanarsena (Military of Monkeys) to fight Ravan while searching the whereabouts of Seeta. With that Vanarsena Shri Ram was ready to attack Shri Lanka where Ravan has kept Seeta but to reach there they were supposed to cross the ocean & the total distance from Rameshwar to Shri Lanka was about 35 kilometres & it wasn’t a cakewalk. A modern engineer may take 10 /15 years to complete this task but Nal has completed it within 3 days. All the material used to construct a Ramsetu (Bridge over Sea) has mentioned in Valmiki Ramayana. Off course it was not the Nal alone but wholehearted work of entire Vanarsena.

To get supported or someone is ready to die for you then leader need to be worthy of that. He needs to be strong & compassionate at the same time & rather thinking of your own benefits when you start living for the betterment of the society only then people are prepared even to sacrifice their life. Shri Ram’s life is full of uplifting people & inspiring them to live a life of what’s right for them. He is not referred to as ‘Maryada Purushottam’ just like that.

He has completed his education with the sage Vashishtha; where he learned all the things that needed to live an extraordinary life. Sage Vishwamitra enhanced that by showing a pathway to use it for the universal purpose.

Using that he did killed many demons & uplifted many good souls to eternity but still he was always calm & always eager to support the needy. Ego never entered in his mind at all. A selfless king who truly lived for his countrymen & that’s why people still desire for Ram Rajya (Kingdom).

Capable of achieving anything & a greatest warrior still he was worshipping god by surrendering himself completely.

We only pray to god when there are problems that we can’t handle or in the succumbing situation or when we want something in return from the god. And when we are not capable of achieving what we want then the prayers or the negotiations with god is always at the peak. When a powerful person surrenders to god then it’s not for getting something but simply paying gratitude towards the almighty. People are always ready to sacrifice everything for such kind of leaders. The prominent example of such leader is the great Maratha king Shivaji. The way Vanarsena fought for Shri Ram the same way every single Maratha’s were with king Shivaji to create a kingdom.

Looking at the massive waves of the sea most of us will drop the idea of crossing the sea in the first place & if an enemy is mighty warrior & possessing all the powers in the world like Ravan then we will not even dare to reach to the seashore & by mistakenly if we reach to the shore then looking at the ruptured sea we will fold our hands from a distance & will change our mind to cross it ever.

Shriram defeated & killed Ravan with the help of many powerful warriors like Laxman, Hanuman & Sugreev. Also due to Bibhishan a younger brother of Ravan who was against Ravan for his wrong doings & ultimately chose to be with Shri Ram. So the victory Ravan was not the victory of Shri Ram alone rather it was it was teamwork but the inspiration was definitely Shri Ram.

Just with one small problem we get belittle & start messing up entire life. If you don’t want this to happen & really want to take charge of your life then only folding hands in front of Shri Ram or only praising him for his extraordinary qualities will not be sufficient; you need to actually adopt those qualities & should make it a part of your day to day life.

If you look at the entire history of Shri Ram then you will realise that problems are bound to come in your life but if you face them with all the strength & with patience then you’ll surely wins the battles.

||जय श्रीराम||
