To Live The Life You Desire, Learn To Open Your Heart

Few months back I heard about a Kannada movie named ‘99’ & while searching online I realised it’s a remake of Vijay Sethupathy & Trisha Krishnan acted Tamil movie ‘96’. Both are my favourite actors so I watched the movie & loved it thoroughly.

I have seen this movie in Tamil & in Hindi as well. Hindi dub is good but I liked the Tamil most. I don’t understand Tamil but that doesn’t stop me from understanding movie. If you are able to read facial expressions then you can get the feelings & the emotions of the person & if you can get the emotions then you can easily understand what they are talking about; not word by word but the whole essence of it even without anybody’s support. Once upon a time while watching English movies I was using the same formula as I have studied in vernacular medium & in our time English subject were introduced in 5^th standard.

After long I have seen a simple & sober but a beautiful movie. No fighting, no melodrama, only a beautiful story & the best presentation.

A simple love story but never quite reached its climax; still it’s not a sad story in any manner.

While at school, Ramchandra and Janaki fall in love with each other. Ram is little introverted and Janaki is capable of expressing herself freely. By nature completely different from each other and yet understanding each other without saying anything.

Movie name ’96’ resembles their characters perfectly. 9 & 6 are vertical reflection of each other. They look different but similar if change to upside down or vice versa.

Rather proposing Janaki, Ram shares what he feels about Janaki with a friend whom he considers as his sister; after hearing shockingly she looks at Janaki & in acceptance feeling shy Janaki looks down. After that incident it’s difficult for an introvert Ram to face Janaki or even to look into her eyes. He loves her lot & can’t live without seeing her but still shy away from confronting her. A pure love but doesn’t know to express itself.

Even before completing schooling due to some unavoidable circumstances Ram’s entire family shifts to Chennai from Thanjavur & after that they directly meets almost after 22 years…

I know it will surely sound weird but it’s true that once upon a time if a girl happens to look at me then immediately I use to look down.

In 6^th/ 7^th standard there was a girl in my class who use to talk to me a lot & whenever she use to feel like talking to me she will simply come & sit on my bench next to me & I use to get shrink completely & use to sit as compressed as possible, adjusting myself in the corner of the bench. All my friends who use to get scattered after her arrival use to show up once she is back to her place.

Possibly after 8^th standard our classes were changed. May be she was put into afternoon class & I continued in the morning division. After that I directly met her before the final exams of 10^th standard. I have been to my classmates place & were talking to him in his building we had an eye contact. Pleasantly smile was on her face & she stuck there to talk to me but as usual I looked down. I did felt like talking to her but didn’t gather that much of courage & inspite of she is standing there I moved from there. Personally I didn’t liked what I did but it was useless repenting once do such stupid acts. That time I came to know that she resides in the same building where my classmate was staying but I never went there again & never seen her after that.

It’s remotely impossible that if she had any feelings about me in that age & even if she did then I am completely unaware of that. I use to consider that she is very friendly & is able to express herself freely but I was not like that. I was never an introvert but I was surely a gentleman & while confronting a girl of my age, I use to make sure to keep a safe distance & even to avoid eye contact. After knowing that he has fallen in love a hero of this movie behaves like that.

While dancing I never use to worry who is around & how am I dancing & use to have lot of fun with my friends but in front of girls I use to be quite. Hero in this movie is little introvert & does have some inferior complexes & that’s where he is not able to express his emotions. Even I had some inferiority as well but over the time consciously I have surpassed them.

In 9^th standard one of my childhood friend & me got into the same class. We were grown together so there was no if or buts about talking or relating to this girl at all. It’s not only with her but with every girl who stayed in the same place where I was residing but outside of that circle I wasn’t that free to communicate. After this girl got into the same class with somewhere I was comfortable talking to her friends but with others the same old constraints.

During my school time I never got infatuated or even attracted towards any girl but after watching this movie I remembered so many things that were completely forgotten.

Characters in this movie, Ramchandra & Janaki does meet after 22 years & they do get opportunity to open their hearts, to relive the past they have spent together & also the love & concern they have for each other…

Whenever I counsel people on relationship, I always tell them that, “You should have at least one person in your life where you can open your heart without any hesitation”.

It’s difficult to find such person & it’s even more difficult to trust one but it’s too easiest when you fall in love as it’s such a chemical that dissolves your identity & there is always the partner who is important; not the self. It’s completely different world altogether where the partner comes first & because of the transparency, without anyone opening their mouth you can still get the emotions. It doesn’t matter if you are staying together or far away, till the time those feelings are alive your love life is always fresh.

Not all the relationships are long lasting; many disappear just like that in no time. If you breakup with someone than at least you can console yourself & start over once again but if someone has left all of a sudden then we don’t even know from where to begin. In reality the way can be paved out if you allow yourself to come out of the past.

It will be an insult to the word ‘relationship’ if we call some relations as the relationship, they are that bad & some are so stretched that if stretched further it will be broken forever. If you want them to sustain & to a give a desired shape then you need to begin with love & only adoring that you will get the relationship that you dreamed off.

Due to lockdown we have gotten an opportunity to stay with our family. You can use it to criticise each other or to remove the misunderstandings that caused the sourness in relationship. And without communication & opening your heart you can’t even begin anything.

So if you really want to live the life that desire Then learn to open your heart & pour love into it.
